The editors at sarugby.com had assembled some of the best rugby minds to write daily columns and news for their site. But these writers are not web designers and they needed a complete content management system to allow the news and columns to be published by writers who are not familiar with HTML and web technology.

At Digit Solutions we took an open-source portal system and customized it for their needs. Combine this with excellent graphic design and a complete hosting package and you have a web site whose readership has almost doubled every month since the site went live in February 2005.

Digit Solutions is continually developing and updating the site to maintain its position at the forefront of online media publishing with such features as SMS Scoring, an advanced Statistics Centre and extensive player database.

Source Consulting

Source Consulting is a backup and mass storage consulting and services company with major clients throughout South Africa. They required a comprehensive web based help desk and issue tracking system for their sales and support staff to use over their corporate intranet.

Digit provided them with a system that ran seamlessly and securely on completely open source back office platforms and integrated with their existing Microsoft Exchange environment. The system included Microsoft Outlook add-ins that allowed staff to save mail messages and attach them to support issues in the help desk system.

The StockXchange

The stockXchange is an exciting new concept in the beverage services industry. Without divulging too many of the company's trade secrets, the system is a unique new way to sell drinks on a supply and demand pricing system. Similar to the stock exchange, the prices of the drinks fluctuate according to their demand.

Digit Solutions has produced the point-of-sales, application server and pricing display software for this initiative. Menus are easily customizable, and can be seamlessly branded to provide for excellent sponsorship opportunities. Two major party events in Cape Town and one in Johannesburg have proven the success of the StockXchange system.

Thorp Delta

As an established Delta dealer in the Western Cape, Thorp Delta was unhappy with its ability to track the cars it purchases from the factory in Port Elizabeth to their dealerships in the Western Cape.

Digit Solutions developed a proof-of-concept GSM/GPS based vehicle tracking system for Thorp Delta which will provide them with a web based facility to track their vehicles as soon as they leave the factory floor. This service may then be offered to car buyers once the cars have reached the dealership.
